Skyr + seeds + dried berries for breakfast, with a glass of AF fizz and fresh orange.

I'd like to say this is a NY resolution or some such bollocks, but it's just a lazy breakfast and I fully intend to make a disgustingly tasty bacon butty once I've woken up properly.

So it turns out you can play a bazillion songs once you've learnt C, G, F and Am on the ukelele. Hardest part is getting used to finger strumming and holding it in position, though my other skills from playing guitar seem to transfer pretty easily.

Got a gorgeous electro-acoustic ukelele for my birthday. Eddie Vedder and Jason Mraz, watch your backs, I'm comin' for ya!

Kids are still in bed and @Jo is at work. Quietest Xmas morning ever.

Good day. Woke and made sausage rolls for breakfast, made two loaves, finished clearing out 15 years of crap from the bedroom, filled the rest of the skip with crap from the garage, played some CP, wrapped all the prezzies, ate burgers. That's a wrap (arf).

It's really faithful to the original games, even down to Rogue's appearance and haircut. I took off Thursday and Friday last week to play...I've...played a lot, this weekend. 😊

Can't wait to get some in-game screenshots for the Cyberpunk RED campaign I'm planning for my game group.

And my marathon CP2077 session comes to an end. I've put in maybe 40-50 hours since Thursday evening, performance issues and all (Xbox One S, though the kids are playing on PC and it looks gorgeous).

I have over three decades of the 'punk universe in my blood, most from running the TTRPG. Night City and its stories have been a part of my life and gaming friendships since I was a teenager in the '80s, and I've fallen in love with the game and many of its characters, bugs, warts and all.

Today's sourdough! 800g organic flour (10% rye), 10g salt, 500g water, 300g levain.

Started yesterday with a 1 hour autolyse, added the levain and kneaded in. Four folds, 30 minutes apart. Shape and ferment for another 3 hours, shape again and 14 hours overnight in the fridge in bannetons. Dutch oven and ice cubes at 450F for 30 minutes, then 30 minutes with the lid off.

Pretty chuffed at the results.

COMMENT β€œMe!” IF YOU'D LIKE TO WIN TRUFFLE CHOCOLATE KRUIDNOTEN! πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

πŸ‡³πŸ‡± In two days, on December 5th, we're celebrating #Sinterklaas! A time when Dutchies get presents and eat lots of kruidnoten. I'm sending one lucky non-Dutch #Mastodon user a bag of the finest #kruidnoten: the rare truffle chocolate ones! 🀀

If you'd like a chance to win this glorious bag of kruidnoten, then comment β€œMe!” under this toot. I'll randomly select someone on the evening of December 5th.

Last night consisted of Maltesers and re-watching Strange Days, which I've not watched for well over a decade. Kathryn Bigelow is an outstanding directory and both Angela Bassett and Ralph Fiennes make that movie. It's a cyberpunk classic and still stands out today. And the story is pretty fucking relevant right now.

Awesome soundtrack too.

My bread-fu is improving. Since lockdown v1 I've been dabbling with baking bread, including growing a sourdough starter ("Doughbi-wan"). Applying more of my undergraduate microbiology skills than anything else.

This is the result of an improvised recipe using starter discard after I fed him last night + overnight proofing that didn't seem to do much. Looks good.

Breadmaking is also my go-to when my mental health is poor or my vulnerabilities are high. I recommend it.

Toblerone and mince pies for breakfast is fine right, as we put the tree up yesterday?

It's November and we put the tree and lights up whilst @Jo shopped for nice food and extra decorations. Normally, I'm a bah humbug kind of guy but fuck it, it's been a toss year and every single one of us deserves a bit of fun. It was also really enjoyable spending the afternoon doing decorative house stuff with both the boys.

Reading Cyberpunk RED with Split Second (1992) playing in the background. I'm that cool and edgy.

My first proper devlog on Itch. Now I have my RPG project to a point that I can create characters and use the lifepath, I gave it a quick run through to see how quickly I could build a character. I'm happy with the outcome.

"On receiving an interrupt, decrement the counter to zero."

Work is stupidly busy at the moment and I've been working weekends and evenings (not that I'm complaining, I'm bloody lucky compared to many).

Still sober (120 days) and have made some good friends via the sobriety app I use.

Still caffeine free and missing it so much right now (see "work", above).

Still writing regularly.

Still getting shitty fucking nightmares, especially recently. Thanks, brain.

Sat on the sofa, stuffing my face with jelly beans.

Stay safe my friends. πŸ™β€οΈ
