It's okay if you didn't get it all done today.

Crashed out in a hotel room, stuffed with unlimited breakfast and doing very little. Youngest is watching YouTube on the Chromebook. Cinema later, then some writing whilst waiting for @Jo to arrive.

Doing nothing is proving to be very relaxing. 😁 I'll focus on DIY next week.

Off down to Shropshire today. Assuming the Midlands doesn't continue to flood. Trains are looking proper iffy via both Stoke and Crewe. β›ˆοΈ

I'll admit it, I don't get discord.

You join one group which has about 20 separate text channels, each one has the same people talking in each (and generally not saying anything to do with the channel subject).
You end up with loads of misread chats, over several channels, over several groups and most of it is fecking memes!

Did I miss a thing or did we lose the plot after we moved from IRC/MSN?

*shakes fist*

I'm not used to hard exercise. That was a hard course (2h20m of climbing, swings, nets, steel cable walks, 450m zip lines etc.) Seriously considering taking up climbing/bouldering again to improve my core, general fitness and mindfulness.

I ache. Tomorrow will be worse. πŸ˜‚

Head shaved, Greggs for breakfast, now off up into the peaks for the day with my youngest. πŸ˜‰πŸ‘

I'm taking youngest for three hours of rope swings, clambering through trees and zip lines tomorrow, at Go Ape. Should be amusing, given the weather. πŸ˜‚πŸŒ¦οΈ

Burned through the back half of The Boys on Prime until 2 am.

The show has a nuance that I don't remember from the comic, which hated superheroes. The show hates the corporation that finances and benefits from them, and therefore makes them greedy, desperate, corrupted or monstrous.

Same with The Boys themselves, it humanizes all of them in a way I only remember Butcher and Wee Hughie getting in the book.

Violent, but scales back on Ennis's over-the- top shock humor.

Highly recommended.

Everyone still asleep, coffee and windows open, listening to the rain patter on the leaves outside. This is a good Sunday morning.

Hm. Trying to decide whether to smash the shit out of and remove the 60s faux stone facade fireplace and hearth we have, during my two weeks off.

I guess starting such a massive project means I'm going to have to push ahead with it. And after 13 years it would be nice to have a less dreary lounge as well as one that doesn't look like it's out of a 40 year old sitcom.

It is 14 degrees and raining. Constantly raining.

Am so happy. The weather is normal again.

I'm watching Snowpiercer with youngest. It's turning into a surprisingly good movie. Excellent cinematography, well acted and with an interesting plot that is dripping with metaphor. Classism, Orwellian dystopia, post-scarcity, proles vs. the bourgeoisie. A bit of everything. PS: it's pretty violent.

The #garlic was telling me it was time to harvest.

So we did this morning before the rain. I'm pretty pleased with the size and condition of the garlic, which has been growing in pots the previous two years and is definitely bigger.

It's now drying in trays in the garage (which has light and is airy). I'll then sort through them in another month and work out what to save to sowing in Autumn and what is for eating. And some for sharing too.

Mass Effect Andromeda really isn't very good. The character creation is horrendous as well. I'll stick it out for a little longer and we'll see how it goes...

If it stays this hot for 15 more mins you're all legally entitled to go home.

It's so hot outside, I think we can soon start harvesting Spice.

Fuck the weather.

This toot may be self-boosted over the next few days.

Shitballs. Incoming, fellow Northerners! Looks like it might be like the one the other night. πŸ˜œβš‘β›ˆοΈπŸŒž
