Oh, delta.chat has progressed nicely over the last year or so. https://delta.chat/
It's chat-over-IMAP/SMTP. Basically, the messages you exchange are emails. If the receiver doesn't use delta chat, they just see an email which they can reply to. I really dig this concept.
Slept terribly, waking up to horrific anxiety all night. Woke to it STILL this morning. No obvious trigger, at least not one that I can directly link back to the trauma and events of 2015. It's bad enough that I broke out some Propanalol and dropped 40mg to help ease the physical symptoms. Fucking amigdyla. Roll on counselling.
One of the upsides to @Jo being at work and the boys being out is that I can dance around the kitchen singing Ariana Grande songs loudly and not feel like too much of a twat.
Both the boys are out enjoying the weather with their respective groups of friends. I am drinking tea and eating biscuits with @Jo whilst two rustic loaves of bread I've made are on their second prove in the afternoon sun. This is what middle-age looks like. 🌞😂
A really fun evening of The Division 2 with two friends. Mainly free roaming, securing control points and generally getting our arses kicked by/kicking the arses of large groups of Elites thanks to the group and level scaling.
As much as I had misgivings about the game from alpha and beta (and playing D1) it's turning out to be a lot of fun with friends.
I'm a bit quiet on Masto at the moment. Mainly down to being busy at work, @Jo training and starting a new job, and spending my evenings gaming with my mate. Four day weekend coming up though so I hope to catch up with the Fediverse then. ❤️
What IT project would you have more faith in? The one being worked on behind closed doors by a small group of unknown devs - or the one being openly worked on by an entire community of motivated developers?
This former dev that has worked on an infamously failed national IT project has her suspicions..
We need to #opensource government IT. Not just because of transparency reasons, but also because it leads to better results.
Jason Scott just dumped the ZIL source code for every infocom game on github. Clone it before Activision's lawyers wake up. And now we see how long it takes for the internet to produce a compiler for a language that's been dead for 30+ years from a cache of production grade source code for said language. We've had compiled z-machine files, but never the original ZIL. https://github.com/historicalsource
