sesame street, autism advocacy, anti-autism, medicalization (---)

Sesame Street has given up working with ASAN to work with Autism Speaks instead. autisticadvocacy.org/2019/08/a

Excerpt from the linked open letter:
====
For several years, ASAN consulted with Sesame Street on their See Amazing project and the development of their autistic character, Julia. Until this summer, the content Sesame Street produced showed parents that their autistic children could live great lives, and taught autistic and neurotypical children ways to become friends. Through this approach, See Amazing successfully encouraged the inclusion of autistic children in their communities, and had a widespread positive impact.

Sesame Street has now decided to undo that progress. Its latest PSAs featuring Julia promote Autism Speaks’ “Screen for Autism” initiative and their resource for parents of newly-diagnosed autistic children, the 100 Day Kit. Like much of Autism Speaks’ recent advertising, these PSAs use the language of acceptance and understanding to push resources that further stigma and treat autistic people as burdens on our families. The 100 Day Kit encourages parents to blame family difficulties on their autistic child (“When you find yourself arguing with your spouse… be careful not to get mad at each other when it really is the autism that has you so upset and angry”) and to view autism as a terrible disease from which their child can “get better.” It recommends compliance-based “therapies” and pseudoscientific “autism diets,” but fails to educate families about communication supports. It even instructs parents to go through the five stages of grief after learning that their child is autistic, as they would if the child had died.

Hallucination account - Schizophrenia

Sometimes, hallucinations is really horrible...

You know that's false in your mind, but in your heart that screams "IT'S REAL, HELP !".

And you can't do really something, except take medications...

I felt like a failure sometimes, when I have hallucinations...

A lot of people don't realise it but Hallucinations and Pseudohallucinations are actually fairly common in the general population and not limited to psychosis.

The difference between a Hallucination and Pseudohallucination is the perception of how real it is, if you feel the sensory experience is not coming from external input it is a pseudohallucination, where as if you felt it was real then it is a hallucination.

Such phenomonon occur with pretty much everyone from time to time, most of the time it is something minor like a small visual disturbance, or hearing your named called when it is silent, occasionally it is more intense like Hypnogogic hallucination (which occur at the boundry between sleep and awake) and sleep paralysis.

Rant - RPGs Nowadays Act Like Women Don't Exist

Okay before you point out any I am talking specifically modern stuff and I have completed Mass Effects, Dragon Age series, Fallout 3, Pillars, Tyranny (Not completed Grim Dawn but it's a little dark for my liking right now) and well even trying to find aRPG or RPGs that have female protagonists I get deluge of fucking Hentai/Anime games more about sex than anything else.

Like nowadays it just feels like game companies won't let you play a women or make it incredibly difficult. Hell Bloodstained has female protagonist, but guess what GamerBro kicked up such massive fuss that they added male protagonist.

I FUCKING HATE IT. I JUST WANT TO BE A BAD ASS FEMALE FIGHTER BUT MY ONLY CHOICE IN NEW STUFF IS GENDER LOCKED CLASS NONSENSE OR DLC OR JUST NOT INCLUDING.

IT FUCKING ATROCIOUS AND EVEN TRYING TO FIND GAME I CAN STAND THAT IS NOT MALE ORIENTATED IS A LABOUR. LIKE EVEN AS AN EGG I WANTED MORE GAMES WITH FEMALES.

HONESTLY IF YOU RPG DOES NOT HAVE FEMALE CHARACTER OR GENDER LOCKS CLASSES I AM NOT FUCKING INTERESTED.

It's honestly come to that point, like all I want to do is be an awesome female character, but instead I must search through the trash. It's honestly disheartening and frankly trying to find anything yesterday just depressed me right up. That is the truth and really... *sighs*

Nothing will change, because INCELS, GAMERBROS and more have decided females are automatically pandering...

Psychology about schizophrenia in France

Every single things is interpreted, they're not hazard, for someone who have schizophrenia paranoide. They have a impression that everything concerns themself.

I let you imagine the mental charge... And the tiredness these impressions made.

Psychology about schizophrenia in France

The symptoms of schizophrenia are many, but one of them is delusion. They're not structured, they're disorganised.

In the case of schizophrenia paranoide (with paranoia), the delusions is systematized (severals theme, organized, looks like true, but has a bad base of interpretation), or in sectorized (one theme of misunderstanding). They can be a impression of persecution, a big difficulty to find they way in society, etc...

Psychology about schizophrenia in France

So, what I learnt in psychology about schizophrenia ?

It's not one schizophrenia in general, but a diversity of schizophrenia. But the common point it's the dissociation.

We have two types of dissociation :
-dispersonalisation ("dépersonnalisation" in french, which means that you have the sensation to be a stranger in interior of myself) ;
-disrealisation ("déréalisation" in french, which mean to be a stranger in exterior of myself).
